Frequently Asked Questions

What are your qualifications?

I hold a double degree in International business, but it didn’t take me long to realise that business in the conventional sense was not for me. After some soul searching, I got certified as an IIN health coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Shortly thereafter I realised that I wanted to meet and take clients deeper than just the strategic level of change, so I got certified with the Institute for Coaching Mastery, which is a profound, well-rounded and trauma informed 300+ hour coaching certification.

How is your coaching different to others?

Most coaches work on the behavioural, the strategic level. And it does work to a degree, but it has its limitations. How I like to approach coaching is as an invitation to unravel any parts and patterns that are not serving us anymore, at the root, meeting ourselves with compassion to then reprogram with aligned action based on your inner guidance system, and ways that feel so much better in our bodies.

What does that look like?

We create change on five different levels: mental, emotional, somatic, behavioural and unconscious. I teach you how to question outdated beliefs, to truly integrate and rewrite at the root. Emotionally we learn how to be with and honour our emotions, to hold ourselves compassionately. Somatically we get to explore any experiences and sensations that have been stored in the body, and how to integrate them back into the nervous system and move them through. Unconsciously we reprogram any outdated pattern that have been holding you back, and behaviourally we take courageous action in total alignment with you and your inner guidance system.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching? How do I know what’s for me?

Nobody needs a coach, everybody needs a therapist. Therapy focuses on the past, healing and integrating any trauma we may have experienced growing up and navigating life on planet earth. Therapy focuses on healing and integrating big T trauma such as rape, any form of abuse, betrayal.

Coaching on the other hand focuses on the future, your goals and dreams, and creating a life you love. While going for your goals it is likely that any wounds from the past will come up as life’s opportunities for us to heal. We get to go to the root, heal and integrate, and from this sense of wholeness take aligned action towards our goals and dreams. Coaching focuses on overcoming small t trauma such as self doubt, people pleasing, searching for worth in money, a job/title or how our body looks.
